What is outpatient drug and alcohol treatment?
When being treated for drugs or alcohol in an outpatient treatment program you will be required to meet with your drug counselor a few times a week for medication and counseling. The treatment is very similar to inpatient substance abuse treatment, though the big difference with an outpatient program is that you are allowed to stay at home.

When considering outpatient drug rehab ask yourself the following questions:
Are you exposed to substances at home like drugs and or alcohol?
Does your family use drugs/alcohol around you?
Is your support network strong to help you from relapsing?
Can you leave your job/school for a long period?
Can you commute to the drug treatment center?
